Rose City Park Kitchen

NE Portland, OR

Working with a newly purchased home, we explored opportunities to open up the first floor living spaces. The kitchen—which was cramped and outdated— now opens to the dining, entry, and living room, with a larger window toward the front for ample natural light. A couple clever details include patching of the existing wood floor with a herringbone white oak landing and a flush range hood with integral lighting that allows unobstructed views from kitchen to dining to living room. The circulation now flows easily around the central stair, while keeping the first floor bedroom and bathroom privately tucked away.

Clever details create an open kitchen remodel.
