WE BELIEVE THAT INNOVATIVE DESIGN HAS THE POWER TO UPLIFT, BY INSPIRING A BETTER WORLD & INFORMING A BETTER LIFE.
Our Philosophy
Innovative design that inspires a better world and thoughtful lifestyle.
Harka was founded with an inquisitive spirit and lofty objective: to create beautiful and inspiring spaces that possess the lowest carbon footprint possible while empowering their inhabitants to live environmentally responsible and toxin-free lifestyles. Using existing carbon data, toxicology information, and lifestyle analyses, our team makes informed decisions when designing spaces and specifying materials. Our designs are fun, healthy, and attractive while encouraging better and smarter living.
As an added service, we are taking these ideas a step further to develop guidelines to help our clients make more informed decisions about their personal impacts on the planet. Our focus is not what is given up, but what is gained through thoughtful, responsible living and treading lightly on the earth.
Harka is committed to uplifting in all that we do – by leaving everything (from our earth, to our buildings, to our clients’ lives) better than we found it.
OUR VALUES
TAKE IT FURTHER
We are dreamers and innovators, which means our job is to ask, “What if?” We believe in thinking big and taking chances in our work – which means pushing boundaries beyond the accepted status quo.
MAKE IT WORK
Big ideas are important, but we also realize design is just the beginning of the job. At the end of the day, every line we draw matters long after our work is done – so we prioritize practicality and end-user experience.
SHOW INITIATIVE
Architects are problem solvers, and we don’t hesitate before tackling challenges head-on. We know where to start, where to find answers if necessary, and how to carry things through from start to finish.
COLLABORATE
Collaboration makes us greater than the sum of our parts. When working together we ask for help, consider all perspectives, listen to understand, and know when to dig in or push back respectfully.
